Sports 37 Baglan 9

The Sports made their intentions clear from the very first move of the game in spreading the ball wide from deep in their 22. Baglan looked to play a territorial game using the wind to keep the Sports in their own half for the first quarter of the game. Where possible the Sports tried to run the ball back at Baglan with the midfield of Matthew Murphy, Roddy Boobyer and Michael John looking dangerous every time they had the ball. Penalties were exchanged before the first try of the game scored by Jason Evans . Michael John broke the line and passed on the full back who stepped his way over the line. Matthew Murphy converted. Baglan's big pack and kicking game again put pressure on the Sports line for the remainder of the half which resulted in another penalty for Baglan. The score at half time 13 -9 in the Sports favour.

The Sports pack started to get on top of their bigger opponents allowing a consistent flow of good ball to the three quarters. Although at times the line-out didn't go to plan the rucking and driving play from the pack had Baglan on the back foot for most of the second half. With quality ball going forward the sports backs looked like scoring every time they passed the ball. Roddy Boobyer and Michael John in the centres combined very well all afternoon which resulted in two touchdowns for Michael John and one for Roddy Boobyer.

Ryan Wallis, Sports openside, capped a fine performance by finishing off a driving maul to touchdown in the corner. To their credit Baglan kept going right to the final whistle and only some desperate defence from the home side prevented a consolation try at the end of the game.

After the disappointment of the last league match the Sports bounced back with a fine team display and a well deserved bonus point.
