Arsenal to battle Chelsea in to sign Man United star in January

According to reports, Chelsea and Arsenal are allegedly ready to battle it out for the signature of Brazil and Manchester United midfield maestro Andreas Pereira in the winter window.

The midfielder has found himself surplus to requirement so far this term under head coach Jose Mourinho, with the United star only managing to see 170 minutes of playing time across all competitions.

And it looks like the midfielder, despite his reduced playing time at old Trafford this season, has attracted a couple of suitors, as the Mirror are citing that both Chelsea and Arsenal are keen on signing him.

The claim from the Mirror also suggest that Pereira’s contract at the club expires in the summer, and that United are set to offload the player.

It’s rather unsure as to why exactly either Chelsea or Arsenal would want to bring in Pereira, as both teams have so much options to pick from in midfield.

Arsenal manager Unai Emery has top midfielders like Alex Iwobi, Aaron Ramsey, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Mesut Ozil, Lucas Torreira, Matteo Guendouzi and Granit Xhaka, to select from in the middle of the park, and one wonders where the United star would slot in amongst all those top names.

Maurizio Sarri’s first choice midfield trio at Chelsea this season seems to be summer signing Jorginho, Mateo Kovacic, and world cup winner N’golo Kante and it doesn’t look likely that the United star will bench at least one of these at Stamford Bridge should he join the West London club.
